-Bright lip looks-

Ok...so I'm a day late for national  lipstick day, but at least I'm posting something.  This summer has been fun but after playing all day with the kids I just have not had the energy at night to post anything worth it lately.  I have been taking the kids for walks and to the nearby playground often with the intentions of tiring them out, and it has the same effect on me!  I do have to share a quick anecdote.  We walked to the playground yesterday all three kids and I and a little boy approached us.  He told me he knew my oldest son Luke and that he was his friend.  My heart literally melted. For those of you that don't know my oldest boy has autism.  No child has ever told me before that he was Luke's friend. It was the sweetest thing. He told me that they attend the same school and that he sometimes helps Luke get on the bus. Luke smiled shyly when I asked him if he knew the boy and he told me yes. It really just made my day! So grateful that we headed to the playground at that moment yesterday.  We actually arrived later than I had planned to yesterday.  Everything happens for a reason.
I love a bright lip look!  I think the key to pulling it off is keeping the rest of your makeup neutral.  Skip the eye shadow completely or go with a light shimmery taupe. You can wear with a neutral blush or just a dusting of bronzer. I've read that fair skinned girls like myself should stick with pink tones. The more naturally pigmented your skin is the more likely you can pull off a red or darker shade.  Don't let that stop you though.  There are reds with different undertones so if you really want to try a red check out your local sephora and ask one of the employees to recommend one for you.

Here are some of my favorites

Kourtney K pulls off a red lip like no other.
Love her.

Obsessed with the bright fuschia lips Khloe has been rocking on Keeping up with the Kardashians.  This isn't the best picture, but I couldn't find a better one.

I finally found the bravery to order a Hot pink lip tint from Tarte. I highly doubt I will be able to pull it off, but we'll see.  If I don't look like a clown I'll do a post!

This is the shade I ordered.
Tarte's matte lip tint in lively.  Please let it be as pretty in person.

What are your favorite shades of bright lip colors?  Post the brands and shades!

They say that bright lip colors give you confidence and boost your mood. I'm ready to find out.

-Kid's Spaces-

I am obsessed with interior design and children's spaces are high on my list. The perfect children's space is whimsical, bright, and full of organization.  One of my favorite children's retailer's is The Land of Nod.  Although I have never been into one of their stores, I swoon every time I get their catalog in the mail. The pages are filled with gorgeous, fun as well as functional bedrooms and playrooms.  They also feature real families homes that use their items.  I wouldn't even limit their home decor to the kid's spaces in your home.  They have a wide variety of beautiful organizers available.  I also really love their wall art which seems to have a price point for everyone.

Here are some of my favorite spaces

Danielle Hardy's chic tissue flowers featured in her baby girl's nursery.  They are crafted from colored tissue and fake moss.  I love the idea of putting them in a room, but also think they would be perfect for a little girl's birthday party.  Note to self : Emily will have a floral/garden themed birthday party at some point.

You have to check out this Fit for a gentleman room tour designed by Christine Dovey.
I love everything about it and her son is breathtakingly adorable.
I mean it click the link.(Esp if you are expecting a boy it would be great for nursery inspiration)

Create a space for crafting or playing in a big closet.  I like this idea, but I certainly do not have the extra closet space to attempt it. Maybe the sport under the stairs would work?

Kristen Krason's perfect Land of Nod Playroom

LOVE this book wall.

Love the map!

I don't know how attainable this is, but it's awesome.
