Emily's fabulous 1st birthday party recap!

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

My little Emily turned 1 on Saturday! Her party could not have been more perfect.  We celebrated with a few close friends and family and the birthday girl reveled in all the attention.  Her party colors were pink and gold accented with florals.  The decor came out just as I imagined. (Thank goodness).  Time truly flies once you have children.  I still remember the moment(like it was yesterday) it was confirmed that we were expecting a girl.  We literally could not stop smiling. The boys were being babysat by my in laws while we attended the ultrasound.  We struggled to keep a poker face intact when picking them up because we weren't going to announce it until the reveal party! We managed to keep the secret and everyone was ecstatic when the cake was cut to reveal a pink filling.  She is the first girl on my Dad's side of the family.  The ratio of boys to girls across both sides of the family is dramatic.(Very few girls).  Which was the opposite when I was growing up.  It was mainly girls and only a few boy cousins.  I remember waking up the first morning feeling like I was in a dream. We feel so lucky to have been blessed with such wonderful children! The boys are fantastic big brothers to Emily.

Every girl needs a 1st birthday tiara and sash!
Purchased at Marshalls.
This made for some memorable pictures! She did not try to remove her crown once!(because she is a queen)lol I put it on and she just smiled. She actually carried the wand for a while too!

Pretty in PINK Pants!

Why do I not own pink pants yet?

I am in love with this look(and Lauren Conrad)!
I'm also a sucker for nude shoes, and her dainty pearl bracelet = perfection.
I am majorly influenced by her style.  It is the perfect mix of chic, feminine and classy.
I firmly believe every girl should own a bright pink bottom of some sort.
Whether is be pants, a skirt, or shorts.  It is a girly girl closet essential.

Here's a cute pair by J. CREW

Better yet they are on sale!
They would be great to own in time for Valentines day, and would carry well right into Spring!

The queen wearing her pink pants!
Who btw is turning ONE on Saturday!! Which means there will be some fab DIY party decor posts on the way!  Her party colors are pink and gold (accented with florals).  Girl parties are way too fun to plan!

Adorable Baby Glitter headband!

Friday, November 22, 2013

I am in love with this headband I got for Emily on Etsy!  The band is gold glitter and the bow is made of out of a soft felt.  I bought it from this Etsy shop  CharlieCocos.
I really love that it is soft, comfortable and very stretchy. I definitely prefer this type of strap opposed to the very thin strap headbands which just seem too fit too tight in my opinion.  (Even when they are sized properly)  It may just be the way they look. I'm not sure, but anyway her shop is adorable. I recommend checking it out if you have a little girl to shop for!  All of her designs are handmade and very unique. There is also a code to get 15% off your first order!(If you Like her facebook page) The headband arrived in adorable packaging as well.  It seems very well made, overall I'm really happy with the purchase!  Go buy one for the little princess in your life!

Oh and it is beyond adorable on...Here is a pic of the Queen Bee wearing her new accessory!

How adorable is this sweater? I love the sequins ,and the little rosettes. The combination of pink and grey is so cute for girls clothes.  This happens to be a fab find from Marshalls as well as the ruffled pink sweater tights.  The brand of the tights are Vitamins Baby.

Nursery Chandelier

Wednesday, September 4, 2013

When we found out our third and final child would be a girl we were overjoyed. My husband is one of three boys and my Dad is as well. We thought that odds were we would surely have three boys also. We of course would have been happy either way. We feel very blessed to have both boys and a girl, as well as three children that are healthy. That being said as soon as I heard the good news that we would finally have a little girl in our family I couldn't wait to begin planning a girly nursery. I decided to use this photo I found on pinterest as inspiration for her nursery
I Loved the use of the bright fuschia pink. I like the fact that the room is mostly white so that the pink offers a nice pop of color but doesn't overwhelm the room. For anyone wondering I don't find it too extravagant that I put a chandlelier in a baby nursery. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I really didn't think I would ever have a daughter so I will make things as girly and pretty as I want. That is until the day comes that she is ready to make decisions for herself and she may want things differently lol. I will post finished pics of the nursery to follow soon.
